Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
At Autoglass® keeping our customers safe on the road is our top priority.
The automotive industry is evolving at an alarming rate. As a result, we are seeing more vehicles built with intelligent systems to help assist motorists on the road. Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems, or ADAS, collectively describe the advanced features now incorporated into many modern vehicles.
ADAS includes simple applications such as rear view cameras to aid parking to more complicated systems that evaluate the vehicle's surroundings and warn the driver of hazards like Lane Departure Warning (LDW). The automotive industry has also welcomed more advanced systems that can actually take some control of the vehicle, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
What is ADAS?
Why is an ADAS calibration required?
ADAS systems typically operate through a combination of sensors and cameras.
Vehicle manufacturers recommend getting your ADAS calibration after a windscreen replacement to ensure that a vehicle's ADAS system is operating correctly when it's back on the road.
If a camera or sensor is misaligned then this could have a significant impact on the functionality of the system, particularly at speed. In some cases, small unexpected changes in the angle of a camera can be the difference between a vehicle avoiding an accident or not.
Your ADAS calibration appointment
If your vehicle is fitted with ADAS technology that requires recalibration, we'll inform you when you make your appointment. One of our expert technicians will then perform the calibration during your appointment.
At Autoglass®, we are the ADAS calibration specialists, with the expert knowledge and tools to complete a calibration to the manufacturer's required standard.
In some cases, we may require you to drive your vehicle to us for a static ADAS calibration. We have a number of dedicated sites across the UK to carry this out. If you have already booked with us, read about how to prepare your vehicle prior to your static ADAS calibration appointment.
Alternatively, you call us on 0333 999 0100 to arrange a convenient ADAS calibration appointment.
